Maine State Building - Poland Spring

This program is currently unavailable. Click here to view all of our current programs.

Constructed for the World’s Columbian Exposition held in Chicago in 1893, it was built to serve as the state’s entry to the fairgrounds. After a fire that destroyed most of the fairgrounds' buildings, this one survived. The Maine State Building was removed from Jackson Park in Chicago in 1895. After being carefully dismantled, it was loaded on a Grand Trunk Railroad freight train, using 16 cars to make the trip back to Maine. Once we're done, we'll make a stop at Cindy's Dockside for lunch. Lunch is included in the program price.

Maine State Building now in Poland, Me.
