Come learn the essential skills and knowledge the novice kayaker or “never been before but always wanted to try it” paddler needs for recreational kayaking. This on-the-water instruction covers a variety of kayaking fundamentals from safety equipment, rescue techniques, smooth entering, and exiting, to weather and water conditions, and more. Learn the basic types of kayaks and how to select the one that is best for you. Kayaks, paddles, and PFDs for all on-the-water instruction will be provided. Once we gather the fundamentals we will explore the natural and picturesque landscape of Sebago Lake and the surrounding inlets and streams. You will get 2 days of lessons, Tuesday, Aug. 23 and Thursday, Aug 25. Transportation is available to Raymond Beach for anyone who may need it.
