Do you know the benefits that fungi has on our ecosystem? Ever seen a mushroom in your backyard and wondered if it was edible or not?

Mushrooms are becoming more popular, and being used as the main course of entrees rather than meat. Different mushrooms have supplemental health benefits such as improving brain function and providing vitamin D.

Come tour New Hampshire Mushroom Company, located in Tamworth, NH. Eric, the owner of NHMC will give you an exclusive tour of the mushroom growing operation and will identify mushrooms you bring in. Starting with the Spawn (mushroom seeds) to what we use to grow them in, going through the whole process in between and seeing the finished product. You will be able to see how different mushroom species need different climate weather (temperature, humidity, CO2, and air) to successfully grow.

This trip will include identifying the cultivated mushrooms we have to offer and (depending on if any local wild mushrooms are out there) wild mushrooms as well. 

After our tour, we will be going to Mountainview Station Restaurant in Center Ossipee for lunch.
