Red CrossBabysitter Training Course

Babysitting is a big responsibility. Are you ready for the challenge?

  • What happens if the kids don't listen when you tell them it is time for bed?
  • What will you do if a stranger comes to the door?
  • How will you handle fighting or temper tantrums?
  • Are you prepared for a medical emergency?
As the babysitter, you're the leader. Parents rely on you to keep their children safe when they are away.  Children look up to you as the person in charge.

Course participants will develop leadership skills, learn how to develop a babysitting business, keep themselves and others safe and help children behave: and learn about basic child care and basic first aid. This training is designed for youths age 11 +

Date: Tuesday October 7th
Time: 2:30pm - 5:30pm
Location: Windham Town Hall Council Chambers
Fee: $60 all materials included

Red Cross First Aid & CPR Training

The American Red Cross is a leading provider of CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) training, offering courses that empower individuals with the skills and confidence to respond to cardiac and breathing emergencies. Whether for professional requirements or personal preparedness, Red Cross certification is widely recognized and respected.

Red Cross CPR courses are built on the latest science and a proven curriculum. You can expect to learn how to:

CPR:

  • Recognize the signs of a cardiac or breathing emergency.
  • Activate the emergency medical services (EMS) system.
  • Perform high-quality CPR on adults, children, and infants.
  • Care for a person who is choking.

First Aid:

  • Respond to common injuries and illnesses, such as cuts, scrapes, burns, sprains, and allergic reactions.
  • Control bleeding and treat for shock.
  • Recognize and care for medical emergencies like strokes and seizures.
  • Safely respond to environmental emergencies, including heat-related and cold-related illnesses.

Location: Windham Town Hall Council Chambers
Fee: $60 all materials included

Register before 9/30 and pay the early bird rate of $60 per class or $100 for both. Any registrations after 9/30 will be $70 per class and $110 for both. 

Additional Information
  • Informational email will be sent to parents before each the start of the program. Your email must be on your account and opted in to email notifications to receive the information email.
  • A text notification will also be sent out, please make sure you are opted in for mobile notifications and your phone number is up to date.
  • Your child may either walk to Wiindham Town Hall or you may drop them off.
  • If your child is absent from a class, please notify the Parks & Recreation office by phone or email.
  • If your child can no longer attend the training and you need to cancel, please contact the Parks & Recreation office so we can accommodate anyone who might be on the waiting list.
