Swimming Lessons for Grades 1-4

Young Boy Learning To Swim With A Body Board
Grades: 1-4
Dates: July 31, August 4, 7 & 10 (4 sessions)
Times: 8:00am - 12:25pm (30 - 40 minute classes)
Fee: $60
Location: Dundee Park - 79 Presumpscot Rd, Windham
Join Lisa Magiera, Certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, and learn the basics of swimming! Participants will learn swimming strokes like front crawl, side stroke, back stroke and how to stay safe in the water.
8:00 – 8:30 am: Level 1A Getting Comfortable
8:40 – 9:10 am: Level 1B Learning Basics  
9:20 – 10:00 am: Level 2 Beginner 
10:10 – 10:50 am: Level 2/3 Strong Beginner
11:00 - 11:40 am: Level 3 Intermediate
11:45am – 12:25pm: Advanced
Certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, Lisa Magiera
will assign your child to the appropriate level/class time based on the answers provided at registration. You will notify you as soon as possible by email. There are limited slots for each class and the priority is given to those signed up and paid in full.

Additional Information
  • Registration will open for Windham campers beginning Monday, April 24th.
  • Registration will open for non-campers beginning Monday, May 8th.
  • Windham campers may need to provide their own transportation to Dundee Park or transportation will be provided by camp staff. This depends on what swimming level your child will be placed in and what camp registration option (regular or extended day) your child is signed up for. Participants will be notified by email before the lessons begin.
  • Non-campers must provide their own transportation for enrichment programs and must sign in and out with a Parks & Recreation staff member at every session.
  • A detailed informational email will be sent to parents before the enrichment program begins. Your email must be on your account and opted into email notifications to receive the email.
  • If a session must be canceled due to inclement weather or other circumstances, you will be notified via email before the class begins.
  • If your child is absent from a session, please notify the camp directly by calling Discover: (207)572-0342 Ranger: (207)572-0045.
  • If your child can no longer attend the program and you need to cancel, please contact the Parks & Recreation office so we can accommodate anyone who might be on the waiting list.
  • Registration closes Friday, June 23rd. If space allows, a late fee will be applied if registering after the registration deadline.
