Summer Monologue Program Ages 11-14 Register View Cart

Monologue
The Monologue Program goes in-depth with a group of middle-school-aged students to give them the experience of developing a monologue from scratch under the mentorship of professional playwrights/directors. The students will be led in theatre games and exercises alongside writing exercises to activate their imagination and creative storytelling. 

Any students involved in theater already, or just interested in writing or storytelling are welcome to join! Here's how it works:
 
Over the course of five workshops, the instructors will meet with the student writers for about 2 hours a session. At the conclusion of the program, each student will have written a monologue of two to four minutes in length. In the final session, students perform their monologues (with script in hand) for each other.

Registration will close on Friday, June 20th. If space allows, a late fee will be applied if registering after the registration deadline. 




Additional Information
  • Registration will open for Windham residents beginning Monday, April 14.
  • Registration will open for non-residents beginning Monday, April 28.
  • Windham summer camp participants will walk over to the Middle School with a camp staff member.
  • Non-campers must provide their own transportation for enrichment programs and must sign in and out with a Parks & Recreation staff member at every session.
  • A detailed informational email will be sent to parents before the enrichment program begins. Your email must be on your account and opted into email notifications to receive the email.
  • An informational text will also be sent out to parents before the enrichment program begins. Please make sure you have an active number on your account and that it is opted into mobile notifications to receive the texts.
  • If a session must be canceled due to inclement weather or other circumstances, you will be notified via email before the class begins.
  • If your child is absent from a session, please notify the camp directly by calling (207)892-1905.
  • If your child can no longer attend the program and you need to cancel, please contact the Parks & Recreation office so we can accommodate anyone who might be on the waiting list.
